Process:
Here at Lauri Jo’s, we love coming up with new and creative ways to incorporate our products into recipes, and what better way to do this than accentuating a classic recipe by adding a fun twist? Deviled eggs are yummy on their own and are perfect for holidays and parties. Make sure yours don’t go unnoticed by topping with Lauri Jo’s Candied Jalapenos.
To start, add your eggs to a pot in a single layer and cover with water. For easy-peel eggs, this is where you will add vinegar to the water (the acidity helps to soften the shell, making peeling less of a hassle). Bring the water to a boil and cook eggs for about 12 minutes!
After the eggs are done boiling, rinse under cold water for about a minute. Peel, dry with paper towels and slice eggs in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the cooked yolks from the eggs and add to a bowl (I like to use a small spoon for this part!). Mash the yolk into a fine crumble, and add the mayo, mustard, salt, and pepper. If you’d like to add a little kick, add about a teaspoon of the candied jalapeno juice (the secret ingredient!).
Mix the ingredients well and spoon the mixture back into the eggs. Top each egg with a candied jalapeno, sprinkle with paprika, serve and enjoy! We love the fun spin this adds to an already delicious recipe, and guarantee that you won’t have any leftovers! Do you have any Lauri Jo’s recipes you’d like to share with us?
